ASSYNT
Assynt is one of those places that still feels untouched, like the land is simply allowing us to pass through. These mountains look almost like sleeping giants, shaped billions of years ago, long before people ever thought of coming here. Driving through now, in comfort and ease, still feels a bit unreal — especially when you remember that not so long ago, even for locals, places like this were only a dream to reach.

People often say there’s nothing out here. But once you’re here, you realise that “nothing” has weight. It quietly reminds you how small we are, how brief our moment is beside stone that has been watching time pass for almost forever. These hills have seen life begin, change, and move on. Out here, there’s no need to rush or fill the silence — being present matters more than doing anything at all.
